for cooking in the kitchen and you don’t own a rice cooker or slow cooker, this is what you can do:

deception

I can’t use the electric jug in my room cos i don’t have enough Ampere for it, it takes 3Ampere to allow me to use that jug. For 1Ampere i’m suppose to pay RP25k, so since i need additional 3 the amount will nearly RP100k where i my as well use that amount of money for food catering!

deception

See it’s cooking!
As mere student you got to me innovating with what you have, especially when exams are around the corner, you happen to be very lazy to go search for food and variety of food is scarce around your area.

deception

This colourful kuih you see is one of Indonesia’s local kuih la. I’ve not seen it in Bandung, they have it in Surabaya and recently Malang. Surprise, surprise! The kuih is made from EGGS and FLOUR plus lots of Food Colouring. My local friend told me that the yellow colour is the original colour coming from the egg, i doubt it cos the yellow is too bright too be dismiss as colouring. Each different colour have different taste: Coffee(brown), Strawberry(red), Durian(yellow or green). Cost only RP1k for a box.

This is Pisang Pengat made by ‘CoffeeMate’. Lack of nangka and some nice ‘tong yuen’ balls to add into it. Adding sago will be wonderful! It tasted not like Pisang Pengat but it was good, it tasted like Cendol syrup!

This is a movie that came out on International screens on February 2007, couldn’t watch it until now as it wasn’t screening in this small city. The movie is based on the novel written by Katherine Paterson, a children’s literature.

From the trailer you know this is those sort of movies that are like ‘Neverending Story’, ‘Grimly Brothers’ and et cetera of those sorts, hurrah for me! I like fiction stories, especially like those, it’s one of those movies i categorize as “Childhood Movie”! The story is a merge of Fantasy, neverending story like movie and those of “Simon” and “My Girl”. There’s a message in this movie.

Plot revolves around the friendship of Jesse Aaron and Leslie Burke who are two a kind friend who are loners and don’t fit with their peers. Being neighbors they will hang out in their own place, own kingdom, Terabithia! There are the King of Queens there and they are the fastest creature there. The kingdom is filled with magical creatures and forest where they will face their greatest fear there from reality. The story builds on how their imagination, friendship blossom and shape their life, unfortunately, Leslie died in the end. Jesse went out with his music teacher that he has a crush on and didn’t invite Leslie, leaving her to cross the creek alone.

Too over grieve for losing such a good friend, with the courage and strength, he started to build a sturdy bridge from the planks left behind by the Burke family so that this incident won’t happen again. Once he finished setting up the bridge he invited his sister May Belle to Terabithia and be the queen for the kingdom.

Sad and touching moments were the boy’s expression when he was told that his good friend drown, the disbelieving of reality made him indulge in his own world hoping to see Leslie there. All of those cease, when his father reached out to him to talk some sense into him and advise him.

Both kid actor/actress are very good! The girl who played Leslie reminds me of Dakota Fanning, only this girl is more beautiful, looking at her face you think she is an adolescent in a kid’s body. The boy is one of those who can carry out movie roles that portray him as a youngster who suffers from disparity of life.

OBviously, someone needs some sleep badly o_O!

Today’s paper was an early one, manage to come back before noon like yesterday. How i manage to keep my sepet-ed eyes open and not falling out during exam is a great feat, because immediately after i’m done with the paper my lover lids feels heavy and swollen, as if it will fall off it i tilt forward some more. Was Chatting with Tyler for awhile, this remarkable lass manage to find her a way to put her ass in SEA! Didn’t get to much, distance and absence really does kills a lot of things- relationship and common factor.

I’ve calm down. I was napping a few minutes ago, it was a deep few hours slumber when i find my self jolting out of sleep from fear! The effect felt like some one was beckoning you to get up by the gesture of the hand in the air pulling your soul from body to wake up. I thought i have slept through the whole day and it is already 7am here! Had a moment of confusion when i saw the evening cloudy weather like the morning sunlight. Got me pretty freak out!

Stress is when physiology and psychology are imbalance, so what do you do to tip it back neutral, 180 degrees angle? Sing out loud to your Favourite HitZ playing on the radio.

Listen to:
Elliot Yamin- Wait for you
he was one of the American Idol participant but i don’t know from which season- no tv, no update = Orang Ulu
but he is so to drown for, when you hear that clear voice heating the ballad notes.

Lee Harding – Anything for you
– Wasabi
this dude is another idol but from Aussie mate! He is want punker who songs are like the blending of Good Charlotte and Fall out Boys. His lyrics are something to read- amusing. I like the latter song best, upbeat and happy =)

Dean Geyer- If you Don’t Mean it
Aussie have very good idols! Why don’ they play the show for Malaysian viewing and listening pleasure? He reminds me of singer from ALex of The Calling, He’s kind of like Ryan Cabrrera only less sappy and a little more rock!

Other than the fact this 3 people are idols from different countries, they have very different image display from the conjuration of mind . They look very different. Especially Elliot Yamin! Who i just found out who is he… the weird dude who’s seem a little out of place in that don’t know which season where there was Katherine McPhee and Soul-Patrol man. Geyer is so darn young! Or is it just the fact i’m getting older now… adolescent taste of music seem to be not my standard anymore (soon). I’m getting older, singer celebs are getting younger, i can’t drool on them! Aigh~ age!

Exams are starting tomorrow, it’s going to be 2 mental weeks of torture and pimples outbreak. My perseverance of not going online only lasted 4 days, i have to update my anti-virus and do some lecture slides reading.

Nostalgia has been hitting me through olfactory receptors…
just the other day, i smelt the scent of how a kitchen should smell like! The aroma coming from the kitchen of my Kos caretaker brought me back to the time when my granma and mom will do lots of cooking in the kitchen. The scent of belacan is tantalizing me gustatory! It also brought back memories of my stay at my Ibu Asuh’s house at SoeHart. Early morning her maids will cooked for us, by the time we woke up and gotten ready, food will be on the table. It got me thinking, how small things can make you forlorn at times. I’m trading 7 years of my life growing up abroad, missing the tiniest, littlest and smallest happenings of my daily home life for education. It better be worth it.

Today is the Father’s Day! Do you know that Indonesians don’t celebrate Father’s day? Man are so not popular here i tell you when they reach fatherhood =p This is the first country i got to know of that celebrates Mother’s Day on December. Weird, for not following the international day. Here i am getting a little nostalgic, thinking how nice it is to be at home now spending Sundays there. Where i will absolutely wake up really late and before noon Family will head of for Dim Sum and some groceries shopping at the usual favourite hypermarket. Sundays are Lazy days!

Today the whole thing went so surreal…
Musical beat of kompang caught everyone’s attention, everyone was cheering and amaze as Puteri Hang Li Poh (PHLP) was hoisted up 5 feet from the ground! Man, these boys really are capable of carrying 58kg bag of rice! As PHLP wave the crowd cheered even more. My knees were about to unbuckle at that time, i hope the crowd didn’t see that i was actually quite scared when i was hoisted in the air. Do you ever get that little electrical shock from your legs as you step down a little too fast from the spinning swing in Genting? Well i did when i came down from my ‘tandu’, chariot. Actually, the crowd couldn’t understand what the narrator was saying, they needed helped from our ever loyal Malaysians to translate, however they could understand the part where PHLP ask of having an affair with Hang Jebat, then did they cheered ever more! I say, this people really love controversy. The epic of the show was when Puteri Gunung Ledang and the Dayangs did the ‘Asmaradana’ dance. This girls have been copying the dance steps from the movies itself and did a little bit of modification here and there. Voila! The crowd was once more stunned! There’s no show like ours! I feel so proud of what we all did!

- they love us, they really really love us~ hah, drama queen~!

Today things got dramatic…
Hiah~ the food bazaar finish real early! The Malaysians cooked Nasi Briyani (from the boys of ‘04) and the K.D. cooked our very own Malaysian speciality, Nasi Lemak! Before it reached noon all the food were already sold out. Being the younger batch and having to prepare for the show we definitely didn’t get to buy some. I couldn’t anyway, because i had to not eat properly for like 2 days in order to get a rather small stomach which was still bulging a little in the end… sigh!

Before the it was time for us to practise, we had a big problem! Beta was crying! She the macho one was bursting into tears, alarming nearly everyone, cause we didn’t know what happened the night before after full rehearsal. Seniors that agreed to helping us play the kompang live JILTED us the very last minute! Out of childish and petty reasons! Sometimes you just want to knock them in their head to see what is going on in that piffy hypothalamus of theirs for being so emo! Being a director is not easy, especially when you need to take care of the crew as many as 34 people. Voices and intonations being raise to get everyone’s attention. These people were sulking at that the fact that they were being shouted at a little. Gosh, i really wish they had bigger eyes and smaller feet to put themselves in Beta’s shoes to see what is it like to be a director. They definitely would have done the same thing. Hence these people, caused so much troubles, worries and danger to some of the girls who had to go out late at night to the CC, to search for the Kompang song. I salute them for being so persistent. I would have just given up and do without the music. I’m such a terrible worker. Those two gals succeeded, thankfully. And all obstacle were overcome, when it the show blast everyone off their feet!

There were some who didn’t come to support us even after sulking overnight.

Today i flashed in public!
I don’t know whether it happened or not but one of my friends said she saw the wind blowing the dress a little too much for 2 seconds during my last scene! *hope nobody remembers seeing a flash or whiteness*

Today i swoon at POTC3…
Watching the other performance done by the other batches and from the nurses and nutritionist as well. If you think people who studies medicine are pretty boring, well you are wrong. This people really got ideas and creativity. I love the performance by 2003! They hit the jackpot once more (last year they won best performance too!) as they performed their very own musical play. Lots of Indonesia Hits and English Hits were use to describe the meaning of their act. They themselves are pretty good stage performers. I have to hand it especially to the guy who acted as a first class nerd who turned real dashing after being transformed by his fairy godmother. In reality he is not bad looking guy himself to turn into some other person who is a total contra of him just by having really messy mop hair, a large mole on the cheek and an old man spec on the nose.

After that, i couldn’t wait i had to go to POTC 3!

~being hoisted in the air was really Fun! i wish i can do that again, hehehehe. Feels Surreal!~
