Monthly Archives: August 2007

I manage to exercise for the 2nd time this week! It’s so not easy to lose weight! Feels like your cells are dying when i don’t eat… *ok over exxageration*

Ate at this Chinese Restaurant after the long walk… really long walk, walk back after dinner too! That place is Famous for Sapo Tahu Jepang! Ooohh… it was good! Wasn’t starchy because DuoJi asked not to put flour, but they did put a little but anyway! Was talking to the taukeh and the taukeh niau of the restaurant as they were asking us where were we from and what are we doing here, because they heard both of us conversing in English.

Taukeh asked me whether i can speak Mandarin and read too. He gave me a letter to read… i manage to read it but i’m so out of it because i didn’t really understand what it meant! Apparently his son wrote him that letter so that Taukeh can learn how to read to as he can speak and forgotten most of the chinese characters cos he learn up until standard 4 only as the Government banned all to study the language. His son took 4 months to master mandarin in Taiwan!!! So Geng! Amazing isn’t it? After that he straight away get to enter one of the University there to study Principal. (do you know what course is that?)

Taukeh was also telling that if a foreign student there can’t master the language in that 4 months they have to take one year of language classes before being able to enter University. He also told me that compared to Malaysia and Indonesia, Malaysia students are given priority to study there because of the thinking stigma that Malaysians are better than Indonesians. So he was wondering why we came to study here.

Taukeh offered to introduce his son, a 6footer, who is 2 years younger to me. I decline politely.

Taukeh niau sad that their resto sends delivery, although the food is good but it is pricey.  She gave us the menus and ask whether we are interested. Haha both of us were being flattered by her, telling us we look younger than our age! I’m a high school kid and DuoJi looks like a gal who just started University! I think this is part of promoting their restaurant… hehheehe.

Berita terbaru yang tergempar untuk bulan ini!

Have you read about the news in TheStar about an Anti-Malaysia protest after referee assault PM Abdullah not going to appologise Indonesia because a Indonesian nationality, who is a karate instructor got beat up by Malaysia’s Police! News are all over in the local news paper here too!

Met one of the local chinese resident here who said the Karate instructor went out to get food but 4 policemen came out from a car and beat up the man, and told him they were the police.

The questions are…
- the 4 ‘policemen’ may not be actual policemen after all.
- the victim probably lied
- the policemen did it! (but for what reasons?)

Malaysia is definitely not going to applogise to Indonesia about this matter without inspecting the matter first!

However, Indonesia wants an appology and they are willing to wait until later this day 31st August 2007.

Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta have contacted to the students who are studying in Indonesia to be careful not to go out alone or in groups. Malaysians from all over Indonesia have contacted each other about this. Rusuhan has started in Jakarta, asking all the Malaysians to move out of the country! Fights have broke out in Surabaya among the Malaysians and Indonesians in Surabaya. People here have ask a few of the Indians Malaysia nationality whether they are Malaysians or not…
There were also people barging into hotels in the bigger city in Indonesia checking whether there is any Malaysians staying there, making them pack and leave the country .

This is quite bad… so we got until tomorrow to see what is going to happen. If not we have to get out of here for the moment.

Alright! I hereby, state i’m delightfully plump!

Ever since i got back, everyone has been telling me “oh you look diff!!” I asked: ” oh yeah? how so?”

“Well, you’re rounder.”
hmmm…

Arema Boy from the corridor of class, “M, kamu kelihatan…*shows with hands that my stomach is bigger*”! Laughing all the way.

Albert in class… *thinking who is this new gal…*
” M, km tambah gemuk la!!! Gak bisa mengenal km lagi!”

(mean cats… yalah.. yalah… not that bad right!!)

Arema Boy over lunch was saying to a few friends of ours, “All of you are like well fattened cows, ready to be butchered! Nice an juicy!”

Kurang Ajar punyer budak!

Can’t wait! i”m gear up to study better this time…. ‘VRRrrOOooM’!

Surabaya’s airport( bandara, in Bahasa Indonesia) one of the biggest and most expensive place to eat or even purchase stuff.

Roti Boy
First time, i saw Roti Boy! Got me salivating, cost Rp6K!! Imagine that is so cheap!! until i went to Parade the other day and they were selling or RM1.50 a bun. I felt cheated! It’s twice the price man! Not going to have Roti Boy there no more!

Black Canyon Coffee

Being the Jakun as i am, i was surprise to see Black Canyon Coffee there!

Better eat there than the other eateries around, because the price is as expensive as BCC! I spent RP30K ++ for some (local) Soto Daging Special! Bummer!! REal Bummer!

Air Asia counter
The one mafan-ness ( fuss) of the airport is that you are suppose to check in at the domestic section but you have to walk to the other end to the International section, just to get your ticket printed at the AirAsia counter there. sigh~

View from the Sky
Got to ride the AIRBUS!! Ok, nothing cool about it other than it’s slightly bigger and it’s newer and cleaner… nia. Nice view from above huh =)

It has been a good one week and 3 days!
