ROYAL CAFE,  Jln. Merbabu, 21

Royal Priesthood Cafe

The first time i visited *click on * Royal Priesthood Cafe was on the new year’s eve 08, it was a pouring one. My friends and i were sloshing all the way there… they were probably half swearing for making them walk somewhat far. Iron Chef and I stumbled on this rather cool ‘makan’ spot by accident. Guess it was the night of Xmas when J.C lead us there after lingering at Ijen Catholic Church  (hehe). ” Wei, new eating-makan spot in Malang!”, that’s what we said, and decided to tak a look and report back to our friends later on. We were greeted by this woman, whom i assume was the owner because she sat behind the paying counter and she was so nice! =) Nice people are hard to forget.

Church

Back then, the food menu were not many and most dishes were beef base, not many choices for my Hindu friends and some of my Buddhist friends who does not take beef due to religios reasons. To the Hindus the cows are their sacred animal, to some Buuddhist who prays to the Goddess of Mercy they too don’t consume beef.  However,  i got to say the name of their dishes are very intriguing!
Hei! Did i mention the atmosphere of the place was good??!!! The soft lighting used definitely help create the nice atmosphere. Their dining style is Al-fresco and they have a room for those who wants to host a mini party!! They have a mini bookstore that sells christian songs, books and some de-stress hand balls =) lots of cute accessories there too ;)
Nearly one year later…

So back in November 24th 2008 i think… someone asked me where should they host a private party? Jeng… Jeng… Jeng… I reccomended RPC! (Probably sounds like i’m bragging here just in case Aka reads this! I’m not, merely telling the truth.)
A mismatch party was held! We had a great time in that private room and the service was great!

We were allowed to decorate the room and blast some music of our own ;)

it sort of looks like we were in a conference room or meeting room.. hehhe but it was the Birthday girl’s turn to give a speech!

TauHwa and Ayam Plecing
:: TauHwa and Ayam Plecing ::

After nearly one year in RPC, their menu doubled! They not only serve Western food but Local menus and of course Japanese food too! I ordered the food in the pic above! Ayam plecing is spicy (i like), a little different from where I ‘ve tried in the Balinese resto and i ordered that white tofu looking thing, which is well known to the Hock Kien clan (Singaporeans and Indonesians) as TauHwa and famously known to the Cantonese clan (Malaysia and Hong Kong) as Tau Foo Fah! Err.. it had too much ginger flavouring inside! Slightly different from the ones i have back home, which has no ginger flavour at all, just your choice of brown sugar or white sugar syrup.

Who is RPC’s owner? To be more precise, the woman whom i met in RPC may or may not be the owner, perhaps she was helping out to run the place.  Oh my GOSH!!! Anyway it’s a nice place to chill =)

Long Weekend

i never thought i’ll admit to myself… I DON”T LIKE LONG WEEKENDS!!! Especially those with empty agendas in it! Sigh! sigh! A friend once told me, since the flight from Indonesia to Msia is so much cheaper than Russia, why don’t you Fly back every weekend?”

Yeah!!! LIKE HEAVEN I WANT!! Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (Abba)
If only i was granted such luxury and turned into a spoil brat.

Tonight I’m going to meet up with some chinky cliques, have food at Ikan Bakar Galunggung and if there’s enough time Karaoke. Err.. hopefully i can get back in time… i’ve a feeling i will have to leave the party early, need to sleep back at my place so that I can go to my favourite Sunday activity! Market!!

The market here is not smelly like the some of the Msian market at times. Hahaha… Lots of things to feast my eyes on! Drools at the buys and sells… probably Malang has turn me into an even more boring person, but then nothing to do la, small relish i get from a week of superb emptiness…. At times i selfishly wish Miss Senior is here, because i won’t be so bored and at least there is someone to speak Hock Kien with.

It’s a funny situation

when i’m here, i get calls from Egyptian U. Queen and if i told her i was chilling with friends she will cut short the conversation and hang up. However when i am back home, i get calls from her to return home immediately! If i don’t, the messages from the kins were come pouring into my inbox!

I just don’t get her.

Sunday, there is Family Day organise by the Msian society. Games that will be play in competition are: Batu Seremban, Galah Panjang, Sudoku, Kollam, Stepping ballons and running in pair with 3 legs… hahha sounds so kanak-kanak right? Well i haven’t mention there will be muscical chairs, did i?

Then comes Monday!! I don’t know what i want to do on this day…. then comes Tuesday where there will be a birthday celebration for Albert.

The day before Friday, classes ended earlier… bored me wanted to get out and find out about a trip to Borobudur during Wesak Day (i’ve haunch that the Wesak Celebration there is not as grandios and splendour as i’m fantasizing… if it is i’m going to very dissapointed!). Kuthuk was so nice, she went with me to survey. Anyway something horrible happen, this travel agency had lots of Buayas inside. I’m never going to give people handshake unless i’m the one who initiates it. Got my hand ‘rabe’ in a handshake! EEwww! No going back there to that agency. We manage to find another one and that agency was so much better. We were well inform and we got to talk in detail of the trip planning there. I’ve not given my answer cause still pending from the two boys and some other ppl.

Charity: generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless; benevolent feeling, esp. toward those in need or in disfavor; a charitable act or work; something given to a person or persons in need; alms

Donation: an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution; a gift, as to a fund; contribution

Generosity:

1. readiness or liberality in giving.
2. freedom from meanness or smallness of mind or character.
3. a generous act: We thanked him for his many generosities.
4. largeness or fullness; amplitude.

Society:

1. an organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes.
2. a body of individuals living as members of a community; community.

There simple words. If anyone who reads it and don’t get it by now, you must be a certified dumb-ass or monetary selfish.

Not so long ago….
I received a letter asking for donations from a society. Firstly, the letter they passed to me was addressed wrongly to. That is a big sore, if you’re not sure, they could just asked or double check with someone who knows better! That i can put aside but the fact that only selected people who are chosen were given the letter.

(i shall give you 1 minute to digest that part)

Firstly, i was awe at why i was one of the selected ones; however i there was this feeling of uneasiness,  something is not right. I could not put a finger on what was the uneasiness about because i believe that sometimes we must give the benefit of the doubt until recently, all suspicion were confirm.

The letters were given to selected people who are “orang-orang kaya” (wealthy people), words spat out from the horse itself with no butter coating!

Now if you ask me what’s wrong, one word: UNFAIR! If this matter was weigh upon the justice scale, it will tip to one side.

Who was the idiot who came out with the idea? Who was the bigger idiot who approve the idea?!!
Blinded by money fools.

Donations given cannot be judge by the amount receive, no amount can be too small. For all donations come from the generosity of the giver. Asking for charity is expecting to receive alms from others generosity, it is not targeting the rich for money with expectations there.

The difference of a society or a well known charity organizer organizing a charity fund or raising funds is:

1) Society cannot be bias when asking for donations. What makes you think the poor will not give any donations or the rich to give some donation?

2) Well Known Charity Organizer are professionals (like the one in KennySia- SCCS )have a target to achieve usually they invite well known celebrities to help them raised funds or they specifically send a email or snail mail to ask some well known wealthy figure for donations.

Student body have no right to determined who is to be selected or not selected to ask for donations. By singling out the rich and the poor is an outcry of DISCRIMINATION! Even in primary school or secondary school, no student were even taunted in such manner when there was the Jagathon Card Money Collection.
People under the student body are equals, everyone should get the letter of asking donation from their parents. If i am a somebody working and sort of wealthy and was approached with such letter, i won’t be taking any offences. However, if anyone begs to differ with me please mail the letter to my parents personally and make sure it’s to addressed properly… even if it is done that way i think i turn the letter to shreds!

I’ve the right mind to turn the letter into ashes but let not put the effort of detailed typing into waste…

Generosity of others comes from the heart, no matter big or small amount it all counts!

There’s something of birthdays i’m not fond of celebrating. Don’t ask why? It’s just that in a family it turns out there are so many occasions to celebrate and birthdays of family members and yourself. Oh dear… how to come up with the mood for all of it. I’ve known people who celebrate their birthday like there is no tomorrow.
They say:” your bday comes once a year.”
I say:” I have many birthdays to come. Let’s celebrate the next one.”

Some might think it’s weird or it’s sad but it’s neither one of it. If i did something worthwhile on my birthday that is something to celebrate about. Anyway, being in my early twenties there are only a couple of age(s) i want to celebrate, which is when i turn 24 and 25 years old.

24- because this is the year of the rabbit! My year, i celebrate :)
25- Hurrah!!! Cheers to making it to quarter a century old!

Not many people know… I DISLIKE CAKES from MALANG, ok to be more precise, i don’t chiffon/sponge/butter cakes!
Plus those cakes are full of cream and icing! Fattening and sweet to death! Spare me!
Be creative- a platter of sashimi with candles on rocks my day and night!

Presents. How do you choose presents or gifts for others?
It’s easy to  choose for people you know inside out, it’s even easier to choose for people who are not picky

It’s hard to choose a meaningful gift or something worthwhile.

Being a practical person, number 1: Gifts must be practical! (useful) , 2: it must be meaningful to you to give to others,
3: Receiver must like it, 4: however if you see something you like and want to get it for others, it has to be practical too! No point getting something that is not like. It’s nonsense when someone says :” i’m buying and giving the present! The receiver should accept it whether like it or not.”
Think about it, it’s like giving rubbish to someone.

Deathday only comes by once a year too! I think it should be celebrated! I’m not being morbid! But that’s the day to gather around and think of the good old times that one have with the decease plus appreciate what they have done in life that is good that impacted you, others and the world(haha).

Hence: Death Day should be celebrated with joy instead of tears.

Hello (cruel) world! Oh no, no worries… i’m just being dramatic here, although i admit i can be excessively depressive sounding here. Don’t worry i’m not mess up cause it’s a just the way i would put the negative charges of emotions on the go, well if you’re heavily affected by my writings, too bad then.

Getting the GO!! *VRoom Vroom* To blog is dissipating, could this be one of the symptoms as you increase in number of years? DAMN if so.

Earnestly, i kinda hate this Sem… too awfully quiet! A little more hecticness would be nice! Come on, come on!!
Yes, i do have a lot to complain, normally humans are never satiety with what they have. I’m no different.

Err.. i got to go do mundane things now. If only someone will shine the beakon signalling for VC to come to the rescue like you see in those Batman movies! haha… life’s tad boring on weekdays!

p/s: i miss the 17 yrold punching bag! Rolling on big matresses and driving the SLK… 4months, 4 months… (seriosly, thinking i’m mad for not planning to go back… tickets are freaking CHEAP!)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________ After posting that short post just now, there was a lizard slow and unafraid! That scaly, spotty thing was scurrying on my Laptop table! Urrghhh…. Previously i had sprayed it with room refresher and it scare it away… this time making the table tremble does not work neither.

Fed up i took out Baygon, and sprayed it with agitation from one corner of the room to the other… sigh. I feel bad now… I feel Karma is going to hit me real soon! :(
