Some say: “we are what we eat”.

For some human race, they consume everything under the sun, and some have food taboos due to culture, upbringing and mostly the reason is religion.
The Europeans, Westerners will eat exquisite meat and that i mean veal, escargot, caviar… The Japanese have their Fugu, poisonous fish which only some parts can be eaten, the rest are thrown away. A license is needed by the skilled chef to prepare this killer meal! In some part of the world where lushes of green still dominates the sky, there are aborigines who hunts wild animals for food and there are those who are cannibalistic.

The most astonishing race would be the Chinese. They- eat anything that has its back facing the sun! Every animal is edible, and so is every part of the animal is. If you ask why? This has been going on since long, long, long time ago in China, not everyone is rich and able to have meat in their everyday diet. Especially the peasants who cannot afford to buy meat since throughout the year they will be a few poor harvest due to mother nature and they are poorly paid by the middle man. Getting meat is like gold. Every part of the animal is cook as food, that is including the innerts. They learn how to preserve meat, how to cook different part of the meat to bring out it’s flavour.

Now that’s not the point of my post.
Coming from a multiracial country and having multiracial friends and being with these colourful people, you ought to have learn the culture, taboos and religion. If one has not learnt about the most basic facts of one another, they can go throw themselves over the bridge. However if one knows, the differentness and uniqueness of each other but have no faith of basic trust, they can go slap themselves left, right, up, down and repeat it 10 times!!

It is just ignorance or plainly a social defect that one does not take note of the sensitivity of other races. I dare say, I do take note of the norms, the values, the culture and the taboos of my non-chinese friends. When you live abroad, you take more interest in other’s since we are practically seeing each other everyday and interacting as well.

But sometimes when it comes down to food… and the question of

Halal or non-halal.

That matter is something taken to heart by most of muslim friends. That i agree, we must all take care of what we practise and believe.

To my chagrin, i was questioned on the restaurant i picked.

Which i find it absurd, for some think i would lovingly love to poison them or taint them in the name of their religion. Come on!
Which i find it absurd that some thinks i do not know whether Pork is served in the restaurant, i might as well be imbecile if i know not.
Which i find it absurd because they were a bunch of people that went all worry for nothing just because of a general statement made.
What i find most absurd is the lack of sensitivity… such lack of trust.

It was like a distasteful cold dish that went down my throat.

How effing dumb can it be?

Earlier of March, I join the merriment of four to make this merrier! (lol)

Forgive my failing memory, i can’t recall the names of those Japanese girls… hehehe. Opps!
They were on a one month Language student exchange program.

The Japanese girl in Blue has been traveling around. She went to London for a year just to learn English!!! Imagine that, and she is Indonesia to learn the language, though she took classes back in her homeland.

The other Nippon girl in white, she is the more curious one and owns this marvelously informative bilingual menu book of Indonesia. When were in Warung Bali, she whip out her book to look up what is Jus Tape.
Tape or Tapai is a fermented cassava (type of potato), that is blended with condense milk and water. One of my Favourite drink, and among my friends i’m the only one who have a liking to it.

So they were brought to Warung Bali to try out some sinful food.

Warung Bali serves famous traditional Balinese food. It’s not Halal. For halal, balinese food it will be in Nuansa Bali.
Anyway, this place serves awesome spicy food! Such as, ayam plecing, kangkung plecing and ayam bertutu.

Surprisingly, Japanese do acquire a little wasabi when eating sushi, unlike Malaysians that i known, they will take a generous amount of wasabi to eat with their sushi or sashimi.
Wasabi is not suppose to be mix with the soya sauce or sweet sause, it’s suppose to be on or in the sushi.

karaoke with new friends

That was my 2nd time in Nav and compared to the last time, they have less variety of songs from different language.
They use to have Hindi, Tamil, Japanese and Korean songs.
So these two girls didn’t get to sing much, but listen to us crowing for an hour and dance to Project Pop- Goyang Duyu~! hhehehe.

We headed to Dieng Clubhouse for bowling, unfortunately, that day there was a bowling competition so the place was fully booked. We only did some sight-seeing at the clubhouse.

A week later they went away. I must take up the opportunity with them to go Japan one day ;) since they offered.

Focus flew out the window
and left me restless.

Focus flew out the door
and took motivation with it.

Focus flew out the door
and left me agitate.

Focus flew out the door
and made me upset.

Now, Focus do come back!
I need to keep up with time, which i’m running out.
Don’t be a nuisance and stay by my side.

We  were young, insolent, green eye, capricious, silly nilly, scheming, fools, forgive but not forget, have been wrong and right, had wronged others and all that Jazz.

Part and parcel of testing the waters of life, boundaries, learning what and who you are.

Somewhere down the road of time, each made amends to their mistakes and bury the hatchet somewhere and let the by gone be by gone.

What happens when someone keeps the hatchet? That person will take up the hatchet where ever they go.

Who has done no wrong?
As the Malay proverb goes ” Bumi mana tidak ditimpa hujan?”

And so life goes on and as time fleetingly passes by us, a few of us are more open in perspective of people and living, but some are stuck in the spot of the yester-years.

To thee that i’ve known shortly, ain’t it fanciful of thou to first approach and add me on social sites yet i’ve no stand? It’s obviously superficial to collect friends and yet reserve resentments towards them. There’s a word for it and it’s call hypocrisy (too).
